Roles and Permissions

Customize how your team members can manage your company's Builtfirst account

Updated today

Each team member that joins your organization is assigned a role that controls how they use Builtfirst. These roles can be reassigned and customized without limits and apply to both the marketplace owner and seller portals.

Clickpath: Righthand Menu > Roles & Permissions

Default Roles

Default roles are available to all marketplace owners and sellers. These can't be edited or deleted.

Owner

The "main" administrator of your organization. This person has access and permissions to view/edit all pages for your company. They're also recognized as the point of contact for Builtfirst account management and support. Only the existing Owner can transfer this role to a different team member.

Admin

Has the same access/permissions as the Owner (excluding transfer of ownership).

Design Admin

Has access to make visual changes to your marketplace(s). This includes: the no-code editor, marketplace preview, and Languages.

Security Admin

Can make changes to My Team Members. Also has permissions to manage the Security and Webhooks pages.

Custom Roles

Users with the correct permissions can create custom roles to meet your organization's needs. This is done on the Roles & Permissions page.

Name Your Role

Create a label and description for the new role.

Select a Permissions Set

We've grouped common actions into "sets". Enable the ones that should apply to this role. Don't worry if a set includes a little more than you want - you can make more detailed selections afterward.

Save & Confirm

The final step is for you to review the information you've entered and selected. If everything looks good, confirm it!

Updating Role Permissions

Use the "Edit" button in the action menu to manage your custom role. You can rename them, update descriptions, and make granular changes to permission sets as needed.

Managing Roles

Use the action menu to the right of each role to manage them.
