How to group offers / listings / deals in your marketplace

Updated over a month ago

Collections are a tool that marketplace owners can use to group offers together in a "list". Use this to highlight toolkits that your founders may find useful or other companies in your portfolio. There's no limit to how many collections you can create or how many offers you can include in each.

How to Create a Collection

Collections are set per marketplace, so be sure to double-check which marketplace you're editing before you get started.

  1. When prompted, add a name and description for your collection. Keep in mind that fields will be visible to your buyers in the marketplace.

  2. Next, you'll select which listings to include in the collection. This section is a snapshot of your Products page i.e. the listings you've already added to your marketplace.

Keep in mind that you cannot add new listings to the marketplace while creating/editing your collection; if there's a listing that isn't included here, you'll need to first add it to your marketplace using the Sellers page or Builtfirst Catalog.

  3. (Optional) Add sub-collections as needed. Setting these up follows the same exact steps as creating a "main" collection.

That's it! 🎉 Once you've finished creating your collection(s), it will appear in your marketplace.

The location for collections will depend on the template used to create your marketplace, but the section can be moved at any time using our no-code editor.

Managing Collections

How to Edit a Collection or Sub-Collection

Use the action menu on the right to click "Edit".

You can also edit sub-collections within the "main" collection.

How to Share a Collection or Sub-Collection

You can provide your buyers with a direct link to a specific collection (or sub-collection) using the "Share" button in the action menu. Note that if your marketplace requires sign-in to access it, this rule will still apply to anyone using the share link.

How to Hide (Deactivate) a Collection or Sub-Collection

You can retain your collection information, but remove/hide it from your marketplace by clicking "Deactivate" in the action menu.
This button changes to "Activate" after a collection is inactive, so you can hide and unhide any time as needed.

You can deactivate a sub-collection independently while leaving a "main" collection active. However, if a "main" collection is deactivated, this setting will automatically apply to any sub-collections beneath it.

How to Delete a Collection or Sub-Collection

Delete collections/sub-collections via the action menu. This is only recommended if you don't intend to re-use a specific collection later. With this in mind, deleted collections cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution!
