Who's In My Storefront?: Storefront Visibility and Buyer Policies

Control who can see, use, and join your storefront/marketplace/community

In Builtfirst, storefront owners decide who can view discounts and join their marketplace at any time. This is all customized in the Access tab on the Storefront Settings page.

Storefront Settings

Clickpath: Manage Storefronts > Go to Storefront > Settings > Access

Storefront Visibility

Storefront visibility determines whether someone must create a Builtfirst account to see any discounts. Note that visibility only refers to what users can see - there's a separate setting to determine whether these same users can click buttons to redeem/request quotes from vendors.

  • Open - Login or sign up isn't necessary to view products, deals, or integrations

  • Closed - Login or sign up is necessary to view products, deals, or integrations

Additional Settings

The following options appear only if a storefront is set to Open visibility:

Customer accounts

  • Accounts required - Login is necessary to access redemption CTAs

  • No accounts needed - Login isn't required to access the redemption CTAs

Deal instructions

  • Filtered - Redemption instructions can only be viewed by logged in users

  • Unfiltered - Redemption instructions can be viewed by site visitors (i.e. anyone that finds your storefront url)

šŸ’” The Redemption Instructions section of deals includes unique/sensitive promo codes and CTA links/vendor contacts. Most storefronts do not make this publicly visible.

Storefront Policy

  • Open to all - Anyone that can see the storefront can redeem products, deals, or integrations

  • All require approval - Buyers must be approved by your team before they can redeem products, deals, or integrations

Domain Policy

  • Yes, extract domains and auto-group buyers based on them - If multiple users with the same email domain join your storefront, we'll put them in the same organization

  • No, don't extract domains and auto-group buyers based on them - Users with the same email domain will be listed under separate organizations in your storefront

Customer Accounts

Customer accounts determines whether someone must create a Builtfirst account before they can try to redeem discounts or request quotes from vendors. This option is disabled if your marketplace has closed visibility.

  • Accounts Required - Customers will need an email and password to redeem

  • No Accounts Needed - Customers will only need a verified email to redeem

Why are emails required even when selecting No Accounts Needed?:
Emails are used to tie users to your analytics so you can see who is redeeming discounts and when. If a discount requires personal followup from the vendor to apply it, they'll reach out to the email address entered when users request the deal.
