How to bring Buyers into your Partner marketplace / community to redeem deals

Updated over 2 weeks ago

There are multiple ways for Partners to add their Buyers to Builtfirst. Select the option that's best for you!

Clickpath: Buyers > Add Buyers

All buyers will be asked to verify their email address once they create a Builtfirst account. After verification and (optional) approval from your team, they'll have full access to deals in your marketplace.

Via Manual Invite (Whitelisting)

If you're only adding a few Buyers at a time, this option may be helpful. All we need is the Buyer's email address, name of their company, and their website.

Note that we'll save that Buyer's domain (the @example.com, @123.org, @abc.io, etc part of their email address) so that any other users with that same domain can also join your marketplace - no additional invitation needed. This is known as whitelisting.

Once that information has been entered, click "Send Invite" to issue them an automated email from Builtfirst. You can edit the automated email on the Communications page.

Via Bulk Upload (Whitelisting)

This option is great for Partners that want to invite/whitelist a large number of Buyers to their marketplace at once. To do this, upload a csv of your Buyers' information to Builtfirst.

Once your bulk upload is complete, you can either have Builtfirst send Buyers an automated invitation email or they can simply navigate to your marketplace to complete signing up. Since you've whitelisted those Buyers already, they won't need to go through an extra approval to access your marketplace.

Some formatting rules must be followed for a successful bulk upload. Learn more about that here.

The sharable link is helpful for Partners that don't want to require approvals for Buyers to join their marketplace. Buyers that sign up using that link are automatically approved to access your marketplace.

Keep in mind that the sharable link can't be changed and will bypass any buyer policy that you have set. If there are any concerns about your Buyers sending this link to others, this may not be an optimal choice for you.

Troubleshooting

Q: "Domain/URL has already been taken" / "Domain/ URL is already in use" error appears when I try to invite my coworkers.

A: Users with the same email domain as you (i.e. people at your company) cannot be added as buyers. Anyone sharing your company's email domain should instead be added as a team member.

Q: I want my coworkers to be able to see the marketplace as a buyer. What can I do since I can't invite them as one?

A: All team members can preview the marketplace. If you'd still prefer to add a member of your organization as buyer, invite them using a non-work email address.
