Tips and tricks to set up your marketplace / community for success

Updated over a month ago

As a marketplace admin, you have the flexibility to customize your marketplace: from the look and feel to how your Buyers access the platform. The choices are endless, so the Builtfirst team has put together some best practices to consider as you configure your marketplace.

Make your marketplace easy to find.

We've found that traffic decreases if your Buyers have a hard time locating your marketplace. Consider embedding it on your website or in Notion. Keep in mind that even if your marketplace is publicly visible, you can still gate who can redeem deals by requiring them to have a login.

Enable auto-sign in.

If your website already requires users to log in to access tools, don't make them log in twice. This can make or break engagement for many Buyers. With auto sign-in, your community members can sign in once and then gain access to your Builtfirst marketplace.

Do your users log in via Google, Microsoft, or Okta? We've got single sign-on for those sites too!

Auto Sign-In / SSO are paid features. Upgrade your billing plan to gain access.

Keep your Buyers in the know.

New offers are added to Builtfirst daily. To keep your Buyers engaged, make them aware of the discounts waiting to be redeemed. You can do this by enabling the Monthly Deal Digest (a roundup of the most popular offers) and even Slack notifications that will flag when you've added a new offer to your marketplace.

Add your team members.

Let your internal team help with managing your marketplace. You can invite anyone on as a team member to your organization. All team members have access to the same permissions, so no need to worry about only certain folks being able to perform specific actions in Builtfirst.

Invite your Sellers to create offers for your marketplace.

There are hundreds of Sellers and thousands of offers on Builtfirst today, but there's a good chance you have relationships with your own vendors already. Send them an invitation to Builtfirst and those vendors can spin up deals exclusively for your marketplace.

What's in it for the Sellers? If they meet the requirements, they can eventually become Preferred Sellers and offer discounts to the entire Builtfirst ecosystem.

Customize your marketplace.

With our no-code editor, you can update how your marketplace looks on the fly. Add your company logo, change fonts, and select colors that match the aesthetic of your website for a seamless transition from your pages to Builtfirst's.

Review your analytics.

Don't guess how well your marketplace is doing - you can check those stats in realtime. The Analytics section will tell you which discounts are most popular and which terms your Buyers are searching for.

We've got you covered if you'd rather track that information in another tool, too. Set up webhooks if you need to transfer your analytics to a different site.

The Analytics section is available for all marketplace admins, but utilizing webhooks is a paid feature. Upgrade your billing plan to gain access.
