Marketplace Communications

Viewing and customizing emails that come from your marketplace

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Different actions in Builtfirst will trigger various emails to your buyers and sellers. Marketplace owners can customize templates directly in-app, using webhooks, or via Zapier integration, then select a sender in Builtfirst.

This guide pertains to buyer and seller notifications only. Notifications to your team members can't be edited, but each user can turn them on/off within their account on the My Notifications page.

Where to Find Marketplace Communications

Clickpath: Marketplaces > Communications

Using the Communications Page

Notification emails are enabled/disabled, and edited per marketplace. Select the marketplace you want to make changes to at the top of the page.

Communications Tab

By default, all marketplace notifications are toggled on and are set to send from Builtfirst. In this tab, you can customize notifications, disable them, or change the sender from Builtfirst to a custom address

Note: You must authenticate your custom domain in the Email tab before it can be used for marketplace communications.

Customizing Notifications

Click the action menu > Edit Email Template to customize notifications. You can make changes to all parts of a message: the subject line, preview line, and html/copy.

Dynamic Fields

Dynamic fields are variable text like someone's name, for example. Click the circle icon to view options for dynamic fields. Each section has different dynamic fields to choose from.

Previewing Templates

You can preview your email template at any time in Builtfirst or by sending a test to your inbox. Test emails will be sent to the inbox of whoever clicks the "Send Preview" button.

Email Tab

Manage your custom email addresses and authenticate your domains here. Once an address has been authenticated, you can make it the default sender for all emails or select it as the sender on a case-by-case basis in Communications.
